MFA Literary & Performing Artists Studio
The public is invited to attend free events featuring conversations with today's best and brightest writers, filmmakers and actors on their craft, their lives and the business of making a career out of art.
The 2009-2010series to date includes the following authors, screenwriters, editors and UCR MFA faculty members, additional dates and artists to be announced:
- UCR MFA Administrative Director, Tod Goldberg, discussing his latest book, "Other Resort Cities," Friday, October 23 at 7 p.m.
- UCR MFA Faculty member, Rickerby Hinds, presenting "Uncovered a Pageant of Hip Hop Masters," on Friday, November 13 at 7 p.m.
- Award-winning and National Best Seller, Dan Chaon discussing his works, including, "Await Your Reply," on Thursday, December 3 at 7 p.m.

The University of California has been active in the Coachella Valley for nearly 100 years, initially supporting the agriculture industry and more recently impacting modern growth issues through research in areas such as transportation, air quality, and energy and water conservation. The UCR Palm Desert Center, established in 2005, provides graduate education to the Coachella Valley through its innovative Executive MBA and MFA degrees.
